The Hideaway is a fantastic location to host your children’s and parent’s class or course. From Feb 2024 The Hideaway is making itself available for private groups or companies who run classes to hire a space for their weekly group. Adaptions are being made to make spaces private and clearly separate from other groups that may take place at the same time.

What spaces are available?
Noah’s Ark Classroom
Availability: Mon-Fri, 9.30am – 3.30pm
Capacity: Up to 16 adults (max 24 adults/children mixed)
Space and resources: Plainish private room with closed doors and windows. Tub chairs, fold out chairs, tables, TV screen (HDMI), full lighting or dimmed fairy lighting. Hard floor or soft mats available.Availability: Mon-Fri, 9.30am – 3.30pm
Hire cost: £25 per hour. Additional cost £1.50 per adult for tea/coffee station.
Sports area
Availability: Tuesdays 9.30am – 3.30pm
Capacity: Up to 18 adults (max 30 adults/children mixed)
Space and resources: Open space with netting to separate the area. Empty area (carpet tiles) which can include gymnastics equipment, range of sports equipment, folding chairs. Private use soft play frame and/or bouncy castle can be included. This area can also be hired by schools or exercise groups during the day time.
Hire cost: £25 per hour. Additional £10 for soft play and £5 for bouncy castle per hour.
Wonderful Woodland and Sensory room
Availability: Tuesdays 9.30am – 3.30pm
Capacity: Up to 20 adults (max 35 adults/children mixed)
Space and resources: Open space with curtains to separate the area from others. Soft floor, tv and HDMI available, baby and toddler toys, sensory room, cute and stimulating children’s space.
Hire cost: £25 per hour. Additional cost £1.50 per adult for tea/coffee station (served in the café next to the woodland area).
Creation Station
Availability: Tuesdays 9.30am – 3.30pm
Capacity: Up to 14 adults (max. 20 adults/children mixed)
Space and resources: Open arts and crafts focussed area. Includes a small craft table, hard and soft floor areas, space for messy play, water play, sand play. Ideal for creative focussed baby groups. This space is the least private hireable space.
Hire cost: £20 per hour. Additional £5 clear-up fee if required.
Education zone
Availability: Monday and Friday 9.30am – 5.30pm
Capacity: Up to 10 adults (max 16 adults/children mixed)
Space and resources: This brand new educational area has been specially designed for small groups to learn hands-on together in a private area. The space includes a bank of work stations for computers, cooking classes or group learning. It also has a pool table, games spaces, sofas and a large TV. It’s ideal for after school clubs as well as small group learning through the day.
Hire cost: £20 per hour. Additional cost £1.50 per adult for tea/coffee station, Supp. £1 per person for cooking classes.
Whole play area
Availability: Tuesdays 9am – 1pm
Capacity: Up to 80 people
Space and resources: Private use of whole play area including Wonderful woodland and sensory room, bouncy castle, soft play, sports area, 2 role play zones, creation station, construction zone.
Hire cost: £120 per hour. Additional cost £1.50 per adult for tea/coffee station. Buffet/snack costs available on request.
Additional costs
We can manage your bookings through our regular booking system for one-off or PAYG sessions. This incurs an admin charge of £5 per session. Alternatively you are welcome to manage your own booking system.
FAQ’s
Who else will be in the building?
We will have a member of staff on the reception desk to welcome your guests. The café will be open and a chef/server available. Your guests will be allowed to arrive from 9.30am and may use the café for drinks, hot and cold meals before, during and after your session meaning that your group can continue socialise at no extra cost to yourself. Other groups hiring other spaces may also be in the building as well as some of our team members.
What facilities do you have?
As a children’s charitable play centre, our toilets include changing facilities and everything your guests may need. We have a large range of resources on site which may be hireable or can be included in your hire. Please ask if you’re unsure.
How long do I need to book for?
One-off bookings are allowed provided there is capacity. We recommend block booking the weeks that you need in advance. Unfortunately, we can’t hold your space for another group, though we are happy to trial a block booking. We do have flexibility and can reach a suitable arrangement with you.
What are your cancellation and payment terms?
We will bill you monthly or half-termly in advance for your bookings. These payments are non-refundable if the sessions are cancelled by yourself. If you choose to cancel your course or session completely, we require 6 weeks’ notice and you will be billed during that period. You will not be charged if we are required to cancel your session in an emergency situation.
When is hire available?
Hire for most areas is available during term-time only, with the exception of the Ark classroom which is available throughout most of the year. For clarification of term-time dates, please enquire about specific weeks.
Is your centre safe and accessible?
Yes. We are based on the first floor but have a lift. The available spaces are all on the same floor with full, open access. The reception desk has 2 gates from it to access the centre so children cannot escape even if they leave your hired area.
